India’s Chandrayaan-3 mission, the country’s third lunar exploration endeavor, has successfully launched. The spacecraft, consisting of an orbiter, lander, and rover, lifted off from the Sriharikota space center. If the mission is successful, India will become the fourth country to achieve a soft landing on the Moon, following the United States, the former Soviet Union, and China. Chandrayaan-3 aims to explore the Moon’s little-explored South Pole and continue the mission’s goal of conducting a soft landing and gathering crucial data. The mission is seen as a significant step for India’s space program and its ambitions for lunar exploration.
